Dr. Vicki House ’01/’10/’22 Named to the Leadership Texas Class of 2024

85 women competitively selected to explore “LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES FOR THE FUTURE: LEADING IN THE LONE STAR STATE”

March 1, 2024

Dr. Vicki House’ 01/’10/’22, Associate Vice President for Advancement, has been selected to join an elite network of more than 7,500 women as a Leadership Texas Class of 2024 member.

Dr. House is one of 85 outstanding women leaders competitively selected from across the state to participate in the US’s longest-running women’s leadership development program. Throughout the year-long program, she will have the opportunity to broaden her perspective on our state by exploring the issues in three Texas cities and receiving cutting-edge information from recognized experts, government officials, and other thought leaders, which will positively inform her work and community for years to come. Leadership Texas is the flagship program of Leadership Women (LW), a non-profit dedicated to producing programs to help women recognize their full potential and encourage them to make a difference in their community and their organizations.

Launched in 1983 as the first statewide program for women’s leadership development, Leadership Texas is patterned after, though not affiliated with, the co-educational civic programs that have found success in several cities throughout the state and nation. Leadership Texas is explicitly designed to help women learn about critical issues outside of their industries and spheres of influence. Great leaders recognize that it is necessary to understand the cultural, social, and economic shifts before us, and the programming of Leadership Texas provides opportunities and access to help the women impact the future of our evolving state.

The theme for the 2024 program year is “LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES FOR THE FUTURE: LEADING IN THE LONE STAR STATE.” “Participants will visit Dallas, Lubbock, and San Antonio, where each city’s opportunities and response to challenges will be highlighted,” noted Heidi Murray, LW’s Chief Operating Officer. LW recognizes Sempra Infrastructure’s support as a Program Partner for the opening session in Dallas.

Through the generous contributions of the Leadership Women Sponsors, the Leadership Texas program continues to provide the most up-to-date information on leadership and issues affecting our state. Leadership Women proudly recognizes Walker & Dunlop, Texas Instruments, and PepsiCo as sponsors.

Interested candidates for next year’s series of programs are invited to visit the Leadership Women website – www.leadership-women.org – for additional information and application/registration instructions.
